The Model 1927 is a .45 ACP Colt M1911a1 made under license in Argentina by Fabrica Militar de Arms Portatilles, Domingo, Matheu, Rosario (F.M.A.P.). Prior to production beginning on this pistol in the early 1930’s in Argentina, Colt supplied about 22,000 pistols to the Argentine military. Both pistols are marked “Ejercito Argentino” on one side of the slide, and either “F.M.A.P.” or “Colt” on the other side, depending on where the pistol was made.
